Let's make "anko" easily at home!

Thank you for your continued patronage.

We're all worried about the weather this weekend, but for those of you planning to stay at home, we recommend making red bean paste using Dainagon Azuki beans. Some people may think that it's hard to boil beans, or that you can't boil them without soaking them in water overnight, but azuki beans are easy to make because you can boil them right away without soaking them in water.

Put the azuki beans in a pot as large as possible and pour in water until it is completely covered. Drain the beans 2-3 times and continue to simmer in new water. When they are soft enough to be crushed with your fingertips, add sugar to your liking. They are delicious as they are, but if you reduce them you will have a sweet bean paste. Let them cool well and eat them with ice cream or other dishes!

Enjoy some homemade bean paste and have a fun weekend at home.
